R Madhavan is currently promoting his film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022). At foreign events and International film festivals, standing ovations were given to the film, which was in the making for five years. Meanwhile, Madhavan recently took a sly dig at Akshay Kumar for saying he finished filming Samrat Prithviraj (2022) in 45 days. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar reacted to it.

Many netizens mocked Kumar's lack of commitment and his strict shooting schedule after Samrat Prithviraj failed to do well at the box office. As a result of Kumar's admission that he finished Samrat Prithviraj in 42 days, it is believed that this is one of the film's shortcomings.

In a recent press conference for Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, R Madhavan discussed his opinions on the North vs. South controversy and the commitments made by South actors to their different projects. Speaking on the subject, he said that actors like NTR Jr, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun didn't finish their movies RRR (2022) and Pushpa (2021) in a short period of time but instead kept their bodies and appearances for years.

Even though R Madhavan avoided mentioning names, internet users were certain that he was taking a sly dig at Akshay Kumar, who completes his projects within specific deadlines.

Akshay has now fired back and made a witty response. The actor was recently spotted at the Raksha Bandhan song premiere for his upcoming family drama. He was questioned about R Madhavan's subtly offensive comment during the press conference. The actor said, "Kya kehna chaunga... bhai meri filmein khatam ho jaati hai. Ek director aata hai aur woh kehta ha ki aapka kaam khatam, toh mein kya abhi jhagda karu uske saath."

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect released in theatres today, i.e. 1st July.
