Akshay Kumar-led action-adventure drama Ram Setu, which centres on an archaeologist establishing whether Ram Setu is a myth or reality, has landed into controversy. According to BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, he will file a lawsuit against Ram Setu's team for "falsification" of the facts and "infringement."

Swamy wrote in a tweet, "The suit for compensation has been finalised by my associate Satya Sabharwal Adv. I am suing Akshay Kumar, actor & Karma Media for damages caused by falsification in portrayal of the Ram Setu issue in their film for release."

The BJP MP addressed Kumar's Canadian citizenship in a different tweet, writing, "If Actor Akshay Kumar is a foreign citizen then we can ask he be arrested and evicted from his adopted country."

His associate Satya Sabharwal provided more information about their lawsuit, asserting that Karma Media had used a poster of Subramanian Swamy's Supreme Court decision about Ram Setu in the film. The BJP MP stated in another tweet that one of the allegations in his lawsuit will be infringement.

Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Satya Dev play significant roles in Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu. It is scheduled to hit the theatres on October 24th this year.
