Alia Bhatt shares beguiling stills from Darlings; trailer to release on this date!
Darlings starring Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah is a special film for the former as it marks her debut as a producer. The dark comedy is set against the backdrop of a conservative lower middle-class neighbourhood in Mumbai. The story explores the lives of a quirky mother-daughter duo, who while navigating through exceptional circumstances, finds courage and love as they try to find their place in the world.
Adding to the excitement around the project, Alia shared new posters from the film on social media.
Taking to Instagram, Alia shared some stills from Darlings. In one of the posters, Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah, could be seen engrossed in in some serious discussion. In another still, we could see Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew's character engaged in a sort of heated argument.
However, the most intriguing is the fourth poster which throws light on the mysterious storyline of the film. In it, Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah can be seen standing before Vijay Varma, who is tied to a chair while his mouth has been stuffed with a cloth.
Besides sharing the poster, Alia further revealed that the trailer of Darlings will be out on July 25. "Abhi ke liye ye photos dekho. Monday ko battings dikhaungi," the RRR (2022) actress wrote.
Now coming to Darlings, the film has been co-written and directed by Jasmeet K Reen, in her directorial debut, from a screenplay by Parveez Sheikh. It has been produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt and Gaurav Verma under the banners Red Chillies Entertainment and Eternal Sunshine Productions.
The film stars Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles and is scheduled to release on Netflix, on 05 August 2022.
