Anees Bazmee reveals why Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar aren't in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2; 'Didn't want them without purpose'
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's trailer was released today, April 26. It stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani and Tabu. The sequel to Anees Bazmee directorial has piqued the interest of fans. The Hindi version, which starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, was a big success. Director Anees Bazmee was asked why he didn't bring back the original cast of Akshay and Vidya at the trailer premiere for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Anees replied, "Akshay is a great actor and a great friend. Vidya is a great actor and did very well (in Bhool Bhulaiyaa). But the script didn't give us the liberty to bring them onboard."
The filmmaker also stated that Vidya and Akshay's cameo appearances in the sequel would have to be justified. "We didn't want to bring the two onboard without any purpose. This story did not permit us to bring them."
Apart from Kartik and Kiara, Tabu features in the much-anticipated trailer for the horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. It is a standalone sequel to Priyadarshan's horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu from 1993. Kartik plays Rooh Baba in the sequel, while Kiara plays Reet.
