He worked as an assistant director for Karan Johar on My Name Is Khan before making his acting debut with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in the hugely successful college drama Student of The Year. He has had 11 triumphs during the past 10 years, and his success percentage is perfect. He has a good variety of films, including ABCD2, Sui Dhaaga, Badlapur, October, JugJugg Jeeyo, and Main Tera Hero.

Now, the actor will be seen in a genre that he has never done before which is a horror-comedy. Bhediya, his upcoming film with Kriti Sanon has created a lot of buzz and today the official trailer of the film was unveiled. At the launch event, the actor was spotted talking about his journey in Bollywood and his first film SOTY. He described how he felt the night before the release of his debut movie. Varun admitted that he didn't sleep because he was quite anxious. He said, “That night, I had no sleep. The first person to get out of bed was my father, David Dhawan. Along with my mother, I said a quick prayer in the temple. I used to get so many stories from my mother. My tummy was churning with butterflies. Since I still feel anxious, I don't believe anything has changed since then."

Varun’s upcoming releases

Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya will open in theatres on November 25. The horror-comedy is helmed by Stree director Amar Kaushik. He will appear alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the first time in the Indian adaptation of Citadel directed by Raj & DK. He also has Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal with Janhvi Kapoor.
