The Bollywood debut of Shanaya Kapoor, Bedhadak, a love triangle featuring Lakshay and Gurfateh Pirzada as the two leading guys, was announced by Karan Johar in March. According to the most recent sources, the Shashank Khaitan film appears to be in trouble right now.

According to a report, the Dharma Productions film has been cancelled or postponed indefinitely. The filmmaker and the producers haven't made any public announcements yet. If reports are accurate, Bedhadak might suffer the same fate as Dostana 2, another Dharma movie.

Dostana 2, which originally starred Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan, was going to be Lakshay's Bollywood debut. Lakshay was previously known as Laksh Lalwani. However, according to rumours, Kartik was sacked from the film due to his creative disagreements with Johar, and even Dharma said that Collin D'Cunha's directorial debut will be recast.

Shanaya started prepping for the movie before it even began shooting. Shanaya acquired knowledge of filmmaking and how film sets function while working as an assistant director on the Jhanvi Kapoor starrer Gunjan Saxena (2020).

Shashank Khaitan is directing Bedhadak. He has previously worked as a director for Karan Johar's production business, directing Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), and Dhadak 2018) , which was Janhvi Kapoor's Bollywood debut. The June 10 release of his most recent film, Govinda Naam Mera, which stars Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar, has also been postponed.
