"It is a tough timeline for us considering how much time part one took. But now we have also learned how to make these kinds of films," he added.

Interestingly, several big names have been making the rounds when it comes to the casting of Brahmastra’s sequel. Names of Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have cropped up. There is also a buzz that Kapoor might play a double role in the sequel. However, nothing is official yet.

Noteworthy, written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Namit Malhotra, and Ayan Mukerji – in his debut production – under the production companies Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios, along with Ranbir Kapoor and Marijke D'Souza.

The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni and is intended to serve as the first installment of a planned trilogy, which is itself planned to be part of an extended cinematic universe titled Astraverse.

In Brahmastra, a DJ named Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) learns about his strange connection with the element of fire and also holds the power to awaken the Brahmastra, a supernatural weapon that is said to be able to destroy the universe, capable of destroying creation and vanquishing all beings. On the other hand, Junoon (Mouni Roy), the queen of dark forces is also on a quest to get hold of the Brahmastra.

While Ranbir Kapoor plays Shiva, Alia Bhatt plays his love interest Isha. Amitabh Bachchan features as Guru, the leader of the Brahmānsh, a secret society of sages who harnessed the Brahm-Shakti. Further, Nagarjuna Akkineni plays Anish Shetty, an artist and a member of the Brahmānsh, who wields the Nandi Āstra

The film also stars Dimple Kapadia and Gurfateh Pirzada, with Shah Rukh Khan appearing in a cameo.
