According to Rakul Preet Singh, the character she plays in the film defies all barriers, social mores, customs, and hurdles of society on her own. Today, the trailer for Chhatriwali was made available. In the movie, Rakul plays a dedicated sex education teacher who goes above and beyond to dispel societal taboos around the topic. The teaser also implies that Rakul's persona is trying to teach people about contraceptives' significance and safe sex practices. She is married to Sumeet Vyas, who does not support condom use. "Raincoat pehenke baarish mein bheegne ka kya mazaa," he declares in the trailer.
