After releasing the first teaser for Darlings a few weeks ago, Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah left us craving more. The most anticipated movie of the year, Darlings, finally has a trailer thanks to Alia, Shefali, and Vijay Varma. In the dark comedy's two-and-a-half-minute-and-34-second trailer, Alia, Shefali, and Vijay appear in previously unseen roles.

The trailer begins with Alia and Shefali going to a police station to report Hamza, the former's spouse, as a missing person (Vijay Varma). The two are responsible for planning Hamza's abduction and even enlist the aid of Roshan Mathew's Zulfi. The teaser demonstrates how Alia has experienced domestic abuse and is determined to treat her husband, Humza, who is portrayed by Vijay Varma, in the same way. The mother-daughter team kidnaps and tortures Hamza in their home.

This film also marks Alia Bhatt’s debut as a producer. Earlier, the actress had shared her joy about the film saying, "Darlings holds a very special place in my heart, it's my first film as a producer that too with Red Chillies. We are very proud and happy how the film has shaped up and we hope it will entertain and engage audiences the world over."

Apart from Alia, the film is co-produced by Gauri Khan and directed by Jasmeet K. Reen who also marks her directorial debut with this film. Darlings is a dark comedy that is based in Mumbai where the mother and daughter find a place to fit in this world. The film will be released on Netflix on August 5.
