Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan has given us many memorable films over the years. From Main Hoon Na (2005) to Om Shanti Om (2007) to Happy New Year (2014), her films have been a complete package of wholesome entertainment that have received critical as well as commercial success.

However, it’s been nearly seven and a half years since Farah last called 'cut' sitting on a director's chair. While there were reports that she is teaming up with Salman Khan for the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Master (2021), neither Farah nor Salman ever confirmed anything.

On completion of her 30th year in the film industry, Farah recently appeared in an interview where she was asked about her next directorial venture. To this, she replied, “It’ll happen this year.”

Refusing to divulge anything about the project or its star cast, she added, “I have become older and wiser. I’ll keep it to myself. When the shooting starts, I’d announce it on that day!”

On whether SRK will be seen in her next, she replied, “I don’t know.”

Noteworthy, in 2019, Farah had announced that she will be directing a film to be produced by Rohit Shetty. However, due to various reasons, the project couldn't take off.

“With Rohit Shetty, unfortunately, just two weeks before we were going to put up the set, things went for a toss. Now, in hindsight, if you see, it was good as we were going to start shooting in January 2020. For three months, we had a huge set put up, and then lockdown happened in March. I always feel that your curses become your blessings after some time. So, I am more relaxed now. Things will fall into place. I can’t struggle anymore,” said Khan about her failed collaboration with Rohit Shetty.

While Farah is confident that her next film will offer dollops of entertainment, we hope that the ace director continues her winning spree at the box office and gives us a film that does full justice to the 7 year-long wait.
