FFME 2022: Ranveer Singh gets emotional, remembers how his father supported him in early days
At a recent event in Dubai, where Janhvi Kapoor, Govinda, Sunny Leone, and many other well-known members of the Bollywood community were present, Ranveer Singh received an award. Ranveer sobbed as he described his ascent in the Hindi cinema industry while accepting the award for superstar of the decade. He spoke about his struggles to even get his portfolio produced before joining Bollywood as he turned to look at his parents, Jagjit Singh and Anju Bhavnani, who were sitting in the audience. He remembered crying and asking his mother if he would ever be a successful actor.
Ranveer Singh remembers the time when father encouraged him
Ranveer Singh sobbed during the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night 2022 (FFME 2022), which took place on Saturday. Ranveer said, “Aapko yaad hai papa, barah saal pehle, mein koshish kar raha tha aur mein portfolio banane ja raha tha… socha apna calling card leke jayenge aur dikhayenge ki bhaiya mein hoon naya actor, please mujhe kaam do, (Remember, papa, I was attempting to get my portfolio built, 12 years ago, to present to people and request work.)”
He further said,“Portfolio ka quotation aaya ₹50,000… bola ke acha wala banayenge, bade photographer se banayenge. Meine bola papa ₹50,000 bohut expensive hai toh papa ne bola ‘fikar mat kar beta tera papa betha hai yahan pe’(The portfolio costed ₹50,000, which I felt was a lot, but my father told me not to worry and said he would help me.)”
