Recently, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar discussed his opinions on the well-liked boycott Bollywood movement. The past year saw several films succumb to this pattern. Every movie released in 2022 flopped miserably at theatres, making it a horrible year for the film business. A small number of films, including ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, ‘The Kashmir Files’, and ‘Gangubai Kathiwadi’, dominated the box office. The filmmaker noted that this boycott trend mostly began following the passing of Sushant Singh Rajput in an interview with Maniesh Paul on his podcast. He claimed that because he came from a non-film background and struggled, "Maybe the industry ignored him."
