Among the most popular stars, who rose to fame post her debut film Dhadak (2018), Janhvi Kapoor has won audiences’ hearts with her every performance. Dhadak was an instant hit at the box office and the debutante received good reviews for her performance in it. Ghost Stories (2020) and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) cemented her position further.
The newcomer proved that she is more than just a pretty face and a star kid and now, the actress surely has some of the most interesting films in her kitty. Let’s look at the list of five upcoming movies of Janhvi Kapoor we are eagerly waiting for.
1. Mr. & Mrs. Mahi
Produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The duo earlier worked together in the hit horror-comedy Roohi. Mr. and Mrs. Mahi is touted to be the second film inspired by the former captain of the Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni after Neeraj Pandey's M.S. Dhoni (2016).
2. Dostana 2
Dostana 2 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films. It stars Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya in lead roles. Earlier, Kartik Aaryan was also a part of the cast, who later opted out. The makers are yet to cast someone as his replacement. Reportedly, the 50 percent of the shoot has been wrapped up and post the lockdown, the shooting is yet to be resumed.
3. Good Luck Jerry
Directed by Sidharth Sengupta and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah and Aanand L. Rai, Good Luck Jerry is a much-anticipated black comedy crime film, featuring Janhvi Kapoor in an exciting character. It is the official remake of the successful Tamil film Kolamavu Kokila (2018). Filming wrapped up a few months ago.
4. Takht
While there were reports that Takht has been shelved, Karan Johar gave a clarification on it some time ago, stating that the historical drama is not shelved but postponed. Janhvi Kapoor will be seen as one of the female-leads in the multi-starrer which also stars Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
5. Mili
This would be the first time when the father and daughter are going to collaborate together in Mili. Yes, Janhvi Kapoor has teamed up with his father Boney Kapoor on this film. An official remake of Malayalam hit Helen, the film has wrapped up filming.
