Five days after announcing that Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in primary roles, would arrive in theatres in Hindi on January 26, 2022, Goldmines Telefilms has announced that it has now decided against releasing the film in the Hindi belt.

The production house, which holds the Hindi rights to the film, was hoping to cash on the popularity of Allu Arjun as his latest film Pushpa: The Rise (2021) turned out to be a massive success in Hindi. Since the film is still fresh in everyone’s minds, it was expected to attract a large chunk of the audience upon its release.

The decision of not releasing Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi has come as a huge relief for the makers of Bollywood film Shehzada as it is the official remake of the Telugu blockbuster. The remake stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role.

The official statement read, “Manish Shah, promoter of Goldmines, along with the makers of Shehzada have jointly decided to withdraw the theatrical of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi version. Shehzada makers are thankful to Manish Shah for agreeing the same.”

Shah of Goldmines Telefilms had previously confirmed that the original producers of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo had met him and they don’t want the Hindi remake of the film, Shehzada, to get affected.

Shehzada, directed by Rohit Dhawan, also stars Kriti Sanon and Manisha Koirala in important roles.
