Harman Baweja set to remake Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen in Hindi

Filmmaker Arati Kadav, who made her debut with the Netflix original Cargo (2017), has been roped in to direct the remake.

According to reports, Harman Baweja has picked up the rights to remake the much-loved Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen (2021) in Hindi. Baweja has teamed up with Vicky Bahri to jointly produce the venture. If all goes well, the team will begin production in mid-2022.

Spilling more beans, a source in the know tells an entertainment publication, “Harman Baweja and Vicky Bahri are producing the Hindi remake of The Great Indian Kitchen and they plan to take the film on floors by mid-2022. Multiple producers were in the race to bag this film in Hindi, and it was finally the duo of Harman and Vicky who bagged the rights. The prep work has started as the team is working closely to adapt the story as per Hindi sensibilities.”

From what we hear is that casting for the film is currently underway and the team is aiming to lock it in a fortnight. The makers have initiated talks with several popular Bollywood actors who play lead roles in the film.
