Jackie Shroff is jealous of me, claims Anil Kapoor
All through the 1980s and 1990s, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff have worked together in numerous films like Ram Lakhan, and Parinda, among others. The duo mostly played brothers onscreen and their screen presence was such that they complemented each other in the frame.
Recently, while promoting his upcoming film Jugjugg Jeeyo, Anil was asked a rather weird question related to a claim made by Jackie Shroff. In an old interview, the latter had claimed that Anil Kapoor switches off the AC in the car so that he can sweat.
To this, a perplexed Anil replied, “Yeh sab bakwas hai. They are all jealous of me. Sab jalte hain yaar. (What nonsense. They are all jealous of me.)”
When Neetu Kapoor joined in and asked, “Paseene se kya hota hai? (What is the purpose of sweating in the car?)’, Anil responded by saying, “Kuch nahin yaar, folklore bana diya hai. Exaggeration hai. (Nothing. They have turned this into folklore. All exaggeration.)”
On the professional front, Anil Kapoor's next release is Jugjugg Jeeyo which also stars Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani. The film will be released on 24 June 2022.
After Thar, he'll reunite with son Harsh Varrdhan in Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra's biopic in which the latter plays the titular role.
Besides, Anil will also star in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal and Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter. He has also committed to star in the Indian adaptation of the successful BBC series, The Night Manager (titled Captain in India), in which he plays the role of the arms dealer.
