John Abraham is currently gearing up for the release of Ek Villain Returns. The film, which is a sequel to the 2014 film Ek Villain also stars Tara Sutaria, Arjun Kapoor, and Disha Patani. Producing the action-thriller are Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. In a recent interview, Abraham revealed why he wants to stick on the big screen as an actor.

John’s most recent film, Attack Part 1 (2022), had an OTT release in May, over two months after it had a theatrical release. The Desi Boyz (2011) actor, who is also a producer, stated that when he is the producer rather than the actor, he “loved the OTT space.”

He stated, “As a producer, I love the OTT space. I would love to make films for the medium and cater to that audience. But as an actor, I am very clear that I want to be on the big screen.”

The movies Vicky Donor (2012), which was directed by Shoojit Sircar, and Madras Cafe (2013), in which Abraham also starred, were backed by Abraham's production company, John Abraham Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Ek Villain Returns is slated to release on 29th July, 2022.
