KGF star Yash declines to star in Brahmastra 2? Full story inside
Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra has emerged as one of the highest grossing films of this year. The fantasy fiction, which stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in leading roles, is a trilogy and viewers are now excited to know more about the second installment of the series.
A few days back, it was reported that Ayan had approached Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh to play Dev in Brahmastra 2. However, both the actors couldn't sign the dotted line. While Hrithik didn't have the required dates, Ranveer it seems wasn't very interested in the part.
And if latest reports are to be believed, then Kannada actor Yash, known for playing Rocky Bhai in the KGF franchise, has also declined to star in the project. Apparently, the actor had two rounds of meetings with Ayan as well as Karan Johar (who's producing the film under his banner Dharma Productions) but nothing materialized.
A source close to the development confided that Yash wants to do a project that would seem like an appropriate follow-up to KGF 2. He felt the role of Dev is too plain and that's the reason he turned down the offer by Ayan and Karan, who were very interested in having a big south star in Brahmastra 2 (for a wider pan India reach).
Now coming to Brahmastra Part Two, the film is expected to go on floors by the end of next year. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, the fantasy flick is expected to release in 2025.
