Kiara Advani is one of the most successful actresses in the industry right now and she has proved her acting prowess time and again. She has experimented in a variety of genres, including comedies, dramas, and romance, and is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, in which she will star alongside Kartik Aaryan. While promoting Anees Bazmee's horror-comedy, she has spoken out about the roles that female actors are given in comedy.

Kiara recently stated in an interview that male actors get the majority of the jokes and punchlines in comedies. Actresses in comedies have more opportunities, according to her. She said, “It’s very rare that a female protagonist adds a punch. I am still craving to do that. I’m part of these films, they all have had an interesting arc to the characters. But if I’ve to compare it to what your male protagonist is doing (in the film), then you just can’t compare.”

“Unfortunately, sometimes that’s how (the script) is written. It definitely does disappoint. Maybe now’s when you start speaking up and telling your director that you want more. Maybe now I will start doing that going forward,” she added.

Kiara will be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 alongside Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Sanjay Mishra. The film is a sequel to Priyadarshan's horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), which starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan and was released in 2007. The film is slated to hit the theaters on May 20th, 2022.
