Open Book: Not Quite A Memoir, written by Kubbra Sait, marks her debut as an author. The Sacred Games actress opened up about her childhood in Bangalore, her struggles with body image and social anxiety, being abused as a teen by a family member, and an unplanned pregnancy that had to be ended in her memoir. Currently, Kubbra has stated that she does not regret that period of her life in an interview with a news website.

Kubbra revealed her story of the period in 2013 when she went on a vacation to the Andamans in a chapter titled "I Wasn't Ready To Be A Mother." The actress said she went scuba diving at night, had a few drinks, and engaged in physical intimacy with a companion. She missed her period, so after a few days, a pregnancy test revealed a positive result. Kubbra wrote, “A week later, I decided to terminate the pregnancy. I wasn’t ready for it. It just wasn’t the way I had imagined my life or my journey,”

In a recent interview, the actress spoke about this phase of her life and said that she had no regrets but definitely felt like a horrible person. The 38-year-old actress said, “No regrets but of course, I felt like a terrible human being! A horrible human being because of that choice I had made. But my feeling bad did not come from how I felt but rather how other people would perceive it.”

Kubbra is most recognized for her role as Kuku in the Netflix smash series Sacred Games, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan. She has also contributed to films including Sultan, Gully Boy, and Jawaani Jaaneman. Her next appearance will be in the movie RK/RKAY which is slated to release on July 22.
