Actors are viewed as "easy targets" in Pakistan and India, according to Mahira Khan, who made her Bollywood debut in the 2017 film Raees with Shah Rukh Khan. Despite the success of Raees, Mahira was unable to continue her career in India because of heightened political tensions between the two countries, which finally resulted in a ban on Pakistani performers and actors from appearing in India.

Mahira on how she is in contact with Bollywood friends

In a recent interview, Mahira Khan discussed her time in Bollywood. She claimed to be in contact with the Indian friends she had. The star continued, meeting and conversing with her Bollywood friends, but being 'careful' with what she posts on social media to 'shield' them and herself from criticism.

In an interview, the actress discussed her experience shooting in India, saying, "I had the most incredible time there. There is a lot of love among the several folks I still communicate with. Unfortunately, whether it's us in Pakistan or them over in India, we make for easy pickings and vulnerable targets. We genuinely understand one another since we are all artists and are bound together by the commonality of art. Therefore, more than anything, we're trying to watch out for one another. Even now, we take great care while posting things to social media. It's not like we don't send each other birthday wishes. It's not like we never cross paths in other nations. It's only that we are truly safeguarding one other as well as ourselves, not just ourselves.”
