The film Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter from the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by renowned author Hussain Zaidi. The film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, also stars Ajay Devgn and Vijay Raaz, apart from Alia Bhatt, who plays Gangubai, one of Kamathipura's most powerful, revered, and respected madams.
