Netizens troll John Abraham for ‘men should not look pretty’ statement

John Abraham is one of the most popular actors in Bollywood who has starred in several successful films over the years. The model-turned-actor is also a producer, known for bankrolling such notable films as Vicky Donor (2012), Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018), and Batla House (2019), to name a few.

The actor next stars in his home production Attack, co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh. To promote the actioner, Abraham recently appeared on Shilpa Shetty’s new chat show. However, one of his comments made on the show seems to have sparked a controversy.

In the teaser of the show shared by Shilpa on Instagram, the Jism (2003) is heard saying, “Fitness is like a tripod stand- good food, good exercise, and good sleep. Later in the video, he is also heard saying, ‘I believe men should not look pretty. Men should be imperfect.”

His comments did not go down well with netizens and some of them trolled the actor for the same. “John’s statements are so problematic but nobody says anything to him.”

Another one wrote, “Men should not look pretty, says John, the prettiest boy lol. Also, why hold these double standards? Let’s not have these unreal expectations for women as well then.”

Directed by Lakshya Raj AnandAttack is slated to release on April 1, 2022.
