Not worth my time, says Anil Kapoor on not taking up new Hollywood offers
Anil Kapoor, who is currently gearing up for the release of his film Jugjugg Jeeyo, became a sensation in Hollywood after the release of Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire (2008). He again impressed the western viewers as Brijnath Khera in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011).
However, the actor has been missing from the Hollywood scene for quite some time now. Talking about the same, Anil says, “There are shows, films, which are pitched to me. Sometimes things don’t work out, because of various reasons. It might be the role. It might be the script, it might be the timing when they approached me. And sometimes there might be situations where I feel as if it is not worth my time to go there for this kind of film, or this kind of role."
“But I’m always open to jobs which challenge me, which will help me grow my craft as an actor. And I would love to work with filmmakers who can challenge me and can make me a better actor in the West. I’m looking forward to that," he adds, stating that he'll surely do a Hollywood film if the idea sounds exciting.
On the work front, Anil Kapoor's next release is Jugjugg Jeeyo which also stars Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kiara Advani. The film will release on 24 June 2022.
After Thar, he'll reunite with son Harsh Varrdhan in Olympic gold medalist shooter Abhinav Bindra's biopic in which the latter plays the titular role.
Besides, Anil will also star in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal and Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter. He has also committed to star in the Indian adaptation of the successful BBC series, The Night Manager (titled Captain in India), in which he plays the role of the arms dealer.
