Fashion designer Masaba Gupta revealed that her mother, actor Neena Gupta, was devastated when she got divorced from her first husband, film producer Madhu Mantena. Neena blamed herself for the divorce because she had earlier not allowed Masaba to live with Madhu before they got married.

Masaba said that she wanted to live with Madhu before getting married, but Neena refused. Neena said that she had made the mistake of not living with her partner before they got married, and she didn't want Masaba to make the same mistake.

Masaba and Madhu got married in 2015, but they divorced in 2019 after two years of marriage. Masaba said that she got married only due to peer pressure and there was nothing more to it.

Neena was heartbroken when Masaba's marriage ended. She said that she should have let Masaba live with Madhu before they got married, and that she was a bad mother.

Masaba is now married to actor Satyadeep Mishra. They had a simple wedding in January 2023. Masaba's father, legendary cricketer Vivian Richards, had flown to India to be a part of the celebration. Madhu Mantena also got married this year to Ira Trivedi.

In the interview, Masaba also opened up about her relationship with her mother. She said that they are very close and that Neena is her best friend. She also said that she is grateful for her mother's support, especially during her divorce.
