Pankaj Tripathi reveals why he won’t talk in any other languages except Hindi in films
In his career in the Hindi film industry, Pankaj Tripathi has played a variety of multifaceted characters, but he has no plans to continue acting in films produced in other languages. The actor said that this is the case since he thinks that a key component of his acting abilities is his voice. If he could not use his voice appropriately while speaking in a language he is unfamiliar with, he said he would not be able to convey a character with sufficient authenticity.
The Mirzapur (2018) actor claimed that dubbing is something he finds unpleasant as well. However, he expressed interest in portraying a Hindi-speaking character in a foreign-language movie.
Tripathi stated in an interview, "I don't like the idea of speaking in a language I am not comfortable with in any film or web series. I'm not in favour of my dialogues being mouthed by someone else. My acting and expressions are complemented by my voice. Otherwise, my role is incomplete."
On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi will be next seen in Srijit Mukherji's Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga. The actor recalls that the director informed him of the movie's concept while he was in Kolkata for Durga Puja in 2019.
The film, which also stars Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta, is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment and is slated to release on June 24.
