Pan-Indian actor R Madhavan is currently on a promotional spree for his upcoming film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The actor attended the renowned Cannes Film Festival for his debut directorial, and the film’s trailer was also shown in Times Square in New York. Days before his film approached its theatrical debut, the actor was slammed by a netizen for inaccuracy after he misquoted the number of Twitter users in India. Madhavan’s reaction to the same was subtly different.

A social media user posted a video to debunk Madhavan's claim that there are just 25 lacs Twitter users in India. The tweet he later deleted read, “Madhavansplaining: This ActorMadhavan is spewing non-stop nonsense to promote his film and it is only getting more and more laughable with every passing day. Isn’t there any other way to promote his film than this?”

The Rang De Basanti (2006) actor responded to the tweet right away. He tweeted, “Easy bro.. you are a sportsman.. I am exhausted sleep deprived .so said less than 25lakhs instead of 250 lakhs .. but the point was it still less that 1.7% of the population - which was my point .. why so much venom bro.. not good for your sport .. .”

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is slated to release on 1st July, 2022.
