Rajkummar Rao who debuted in the Bollywood industry with Love Sex Aur Dhoka has become a people’s actor with extremely amazing performances throughout the years. The actor has featured in a number of hit films Stree, Kai PO Che, Shahid, Bareilly ki Barfi, The White Tiger, and Ludo among others. The actor who has made a name for himself in the industry also survived in Mumbai like many other struggling actors who came to the city to become an actor. The Shimla Mirchi actor shared about his life experiences, struggles, and what made him reach here to this mark.

Rajkummar said, “It was difficult being an outsider. I grew up in a joint family in Gurgaon and at that time, it was just a small town. I fell in love with cinema as a kid and knew this is what I wanted to do. I used to ride a bicycle 70 km up and down to Delhi when I was doing theatre. It was like going to meet your girlfriend. I worked really hard at FTII. I wanted to learn as much as I could.”

The Newton star further added, “Eventually, I moved to Mumbai, but that was tough. There were times when I lived on one Parle-G ka packet a day with just Rs 18 in my bank account. Luckily, I had friends from film school who helped. But I never had a Plan B. I always wanted to become an actor.”

Rajkummar Rao will next feature in Sailesh Kollanu’s HIT: The First Case. The film stars Sanya Malhotra as the leading lady and is set to release in theatres on July 15. Apart from Hit: The First Case, Rajkummar Rao has many projects in his pipeline which include Mr. & Mrs. Mahi opposite Janhvi Kapoor, Bheed, and Swagat Hai by Hansal Mehta.
