Randeep Hooda is renowned for his unpolished talent, but he deserves extra points for his witty remarks.

In the actor's exclusive chat, he explained why he wishes to avoid the typical Bollywood way of life. When asked if he had any reservations about living in the spotlight, the actor responded, "Do you mean I don't dress up and go to my manager's office?" (He chuckles.) "There is a life that I want to lead, the perfect Bollywood life, where I dress up, attend these parties, and am a part of the self-congratulatory cliques, you know, the kind of system that exists -

I don't miss it, no. To avoid losing touch with life's realities, I've spent my life attempting to live up to my characters and stay as far away from their trappings. It starts to show on the screen once you lose touch with reality. You begin to seem unreal. I have, therefore, always held that close to me. I don't have to imitate anyone; it's my ideal way of life. In actuality, I have not embraced the culture that exists in the business. There are different types of sycophancy and interpersonal interactions. Since everyone is an artist, I have always felt on par with everyone. There is a sense of respect, which is as it should be. However, aside from that, I have yet to cater to that viewpoint.

Randeep has developed a reputation as an intense actor throughout his career. When asked if this prevents him from seeing many mainstream movies, he responded, "I'm simply an artist. I'm just a performer. I have worked on films in every genre. I have worked on Hindi films. I have worked on commercial films. With a few movies, I even dabbled in song and dance, but I wasn't particularly good at it. There was a time when a movie's songs would advance the script. It's more of a disruption now, though. I want to keep watching the story and move on. The industry constantly analyzes it in terms of statistics and casting preferences. That star system has to be changed.

The size of our industry prevents us from competing effectively with the rest of the world because, in an ideal scenario, casting would be done under the plot or the script. Here, a celebrity must be cast before the story can be developed. As a result, a lot of false casting occurs in situations where it is evident that the storyteller will only have little to do. It is evident that this system has to alter. The story and writing must come first, followed by the casting of performers who best fit each character. It's inaccurate to pick those few names since they are the stars, and everyone else is kachra. He said it must be more about conveying a tale than simply appealing to a rating system.
