Dev Anand was the most flamboyant, irresistibly charming, and passionate actor to ever grace the silver screen.

His romantic image and contagious zeal for both life and film will outlast those of his contemporaries.

Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata chala gaya, har fikar ko dhuen mein udata chala gaya, a song from his film Hum Dono, was the flamboyant star's way of life. The 88-year-old multitalented actor-director, who passed away in London, will be remembered for his swagger, which has inspired imitators even today.

Dev Anand continued to court his young heroines in films like Johnny Mera Naam, Des Pardes, and Hare Rama Hare Krishna even after his contemporaries Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar ceased playing the starring roles. He did this by sporting his signature puff of hair, sloping walk, and smile.

The producer, director, and actor worked to the very end.

Dev Anand stated that he still had a lot to give in his final interview with PTI in September, the month of his 88th birthday.
