He has been a part of projects like 'Raman Raghav 2.0,' 'The Lunchbox,' 'Gangs of Wasseypur,' and 'Manto'. The soft drink commercial starring the actor was initially filmed in Hindi and later in Bengali. The advertisement is a component of the brand's latest marketing campaign. The new drink bottle feature that enables consumers to scan a QR code and hear jokes. While the Hindi version of the commercial has been well received, the Bengali version is facing problems.

According to a report, the Kolkata High Court heard arguments from lawyer Dibyayan Banerji which addressed - “The main advertisement by Coca-Cola for its product Sprite was in Hindi. And we have no problems with that. We only have a problem with the Bengali dubbing of the ad, which is running on various TV channels and websites. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is laughing at one of the jokes, which says, ‘shoja anguley ghee na uthley, Bengali khali petey ghumiye porey’. In English, it means that if Bengalis don’t get anything easily, they sleep hungry. And this, we think, hurts the sentiments of the Bengali community. We want this type of shallow act and gimmicks not to be promoted in the future.”

The soft drink firm removed the Nawazuddin-starring Bengali version of the advertisement in response to the complaint, and it later apologized and said, “regrets the recent ad campaign for the cold drink and that the company respects the Bengali language”.

For the uninitiated, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently waiting for the premiere of 'Afwaah,' in which he co-stars with Bhumi Pednekar. The movie will premiere in theatres on May 5, 2023. Additionally, it has significant roles for the actors Sumit Kaul, Sharib Hashmi, Sumeet Vyas, TJ Bhanu, and Rockey Raina. Additionally, he will appear in Kangana Ranaut's film 'Tiku Weds Sheru'.
