Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Entertainment, the film will release on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.

The film will encapsulate the freedom struggle by Usha Mehta by starting an underground radio station called Congress Radio. The screenplay of Aye Watan…Mere Watan would be written by Darab Farooqi.

Usha Mehta is fondly remembered for organizing the Congress Radio, also called the Secret Congress Radio. This underground radio station functioned for a few months during the Quit India Movement of 1942. It was a clandestine radio station to spread nationalistic fervor when the country was vehemently fighting the British.

Moreover, besides Aye Watan Mere Watan, another biopic based on Usha Mehta, titled Freedom Radio, is also in the making.
