Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana helmer Ratnaa Sinha to direct Anubhav Sinha's next project
With his production house Benaras Mediaworks, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha continues to push the envelope and develop a diverse filmography. Even as his upcoming directorial Anek is gaining traction with audiences and netizens alike.
Sinha's next untitled movie is a slice-of-life story, which will be directed by his wife Ratnaa Sinha, who made her directorial debut in 2017 with Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda's Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, which was one of the highest-rated satellite films of the year. The picture proved an unexpected hit, ranking among the year's most popular films.
Ratnaa Sinha has stepped up her game with her next project, creating an interesting coming-of-age drama set in the desi environment. The film is a slice of life film that uses her characteristic method of giving storylines a lived-in feel. The film, which has yet to be named, is produced by filmmaker Anubhav Sinha and Zee Studios through his production company, Benaras Mediaworks. The filmmakers plan to release the film on August 19, 2022.
The film is a far cry from Ratnaa's previous directorial, which was set against the backdrop of India's civil services and focused on the struggles of a middle-class couple.
Preet Kamani, who previously acted in Neeraj Udhwani's Netflix Original Maska, is in the film. In addition to Eisha Singh, who is making her big-screen debut with this film, Kavya Thapar, and the ever-dependable Manoj Pahwa also star. With music by Himesh Reshammiya, it also features some refreshing tunes.
Ratnaa Sinha, the filmmaker, speaks about the film and says, “I am so grateful for the love that the audience gave me for my first film.
