A power couple in B'town is Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Through thick and thin, they remain loyal to one another while overcoming their personal obstacles. Without a doubt, Shah Rukh Khan's wife, a well-known interior designer, is the reason he is regarded as the Badshaah of Bollywood. The actor discussed how Gauri Khan started designing out of necessity at a time of financial hardship.

The actor recalled a moment when he didn't have enough money to purchase a sofa and requested his wife to create one. When they acquired their first residence in Mumbai, she displayed her decorating abilities. The actor discussed a moment when they were expecting Aaryan Khan and desired a living space that was beyond of their price range. Because he couldn't afford a luxury lifestyle, he first purchased a house before investing in Mannat. They spent money only when it was truly necessary, avoiding unnecessary costs.

Gauri Khan recently released her new coffee table book, My Life in Design, which discusses their relationship and the challenges they overcame together. Shah Rukh Khan wrote the prologue to the book, which is also being distributed online. Gauri Khan took up design when they couldn't afford to buy a sofa, according to SRK's admission in the preface. Gauri accepted the job since the couple was strapped for cash and couldn't afford to hire a designer.

Given the cost of the sofa, they purchased leather as they awaited a carpenter to build the sofa that Gauri Khan had sketched out in her notebook. Her interest in design began to take off at this point. She procured the necessary supplies and gave the carpenter instructions to execute her plans. Years passed while this situation persisted, and when their situation improved, Mannat, they purchased a larger residence. The same tale kept coming up: they had no money left over after spending everything on real estate. Gauri Khan saved the day once more and took on the role of interior decorator.
