Who is Rukhsana Kausar?
Rukhsana Kausar, a resident of the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir, was in her 20s when she killed LeT terrorist Abu Osama with an axe and forced his companions to run by firing at them after stealing a firearm from them back in 2009. The family of Rukhsana had been beaten by the terrorists after they had raided their home. When the incident happened, she was hiding behind a bed. She found the strength to come out of hiding and retaliate. She became a real-life heroine as a result of her bravery. Nationwide acclaim for her bravery was received. She became an inspiration to many.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Rukhsana's valour while also awarding her a Kirti Chakra. In the present, Rukhsana is a police constable, the wife of a policeman, and the mother of three daughters.
