Supporters gathered outside the Nasdaq MarketSite office in New York, where his songs were played on the big screen while fans sang along. There were fans of varying ages. The hashtag 'Justice for Sidhu Moose Wala' was used by a few who uploaded the videos on social media.

Unidentified assassin's shot and killed Moose Wala in Mansa district, a day after the state government withdrew his security cover. The singer's body had 19 bullet wounds, according to the autopsy report. His cousin and a friend, who were in the jeep with him, were also hurt in the incident, but are now said to be in stable condition. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has emerged as a leading suspect in the murder.
