Suniel Shetty stands up for Bollywood; says ‘Bollywood is not filled with druggies’ at a CBI event
After Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested in a drug raid where he spent nearly a month in jail, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) eventually dropped Aryan from its chargsheet. The people on various social media accused Bollywood of being a place for all things bad. The entire film industry was viewed in harsh light for drugs.
At a recent event organized by the CBI, actor Suniel Shetty spoke passionately about his time in the industry and said “Bollywood is not filled with druggies''. He further added, “Main 30 saal se industry mein hun aur 300 dost hain mere jinhone zindagi mein kabhi kuch kia nahi hai”. The actor also said “Bollywood is not filled with druggies. Galtiyan hum karte hain unhe bhi bachchon ki tarah dekh ke maaf kijiyega. (We make mistakes but please think of them as children and forgive them.)” He also spoke about the #BoycottBollywood trend and said, “#BoycottBollywood #BollywoodDruggies vaisa hai nahi”
In the past couple of years, the power of social media added to several more voiced opinions. These opinions did include the peoples’ thoughts on the industry. Will the fog ever clear up? Only time will tell.
