The song "Madhuban," which releases on December 22, has landed into controversy after its lyrics did not go down well with a certain section of the society. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra alleged that the music video has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.

Following his complaint, Saregama on Sunday said that the music label will change the lyrics and the name of the song. "In light of the recent feedback and respecting the sentiments of our fellow countrymen, we will be changing the lyrics and the name of the song "Madhuban," Saregama said in a statement.

The statement further read, "The new song will replace the old one across all platforms over the next 3 days."

Mishra on Sunday had demanded an apology from actor Sunny Leone and singers Shaarib and Toshi. He had also demanded that the song be withdrawn within three days or else face action.

The minister had said that Hindus worship Maa Radha and the song had hurt the sentiments of the people. "Some vidharmis are constantly hurting Hindu sentiments. The video "Madhuban Mein Radhika Nache"  is one such condemnable attempt. I am warning Sunny Leone ji, Shaarib and Toshi ji to understand. If they don't remove the song after apologising in three days, then we will take action against them," Mishra told reporters when asked about the song.

On Saturday, several priests in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, had demanded a ban on the music video, accusing Sunny Leone of hurting their religious sentiments by performing an "obscene" dance on the song.
