Taapsee Pannu talks about her Dunki co-star Shah Rukh Khan says, ‘His victories are personal, his loss is personal - that is stardom for me’
Taapsee Pannu is currently promoting her upcoming film Shabaash Mithu which is a biopic based on the life of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj. The flick is slated to release in theatres on July 15. The actress is also busy filming for Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan. Taapsee who is working with Shah Rukh for the first time expressed her admiration for the superstar.
She said, “I have a special admiration, which I don’t know how it gets even bigger than what I have for him. But also because we both hail from the same city, there is a certain affinity that I have towards him also because of that. Starting from scratch, being an outsider, yes. That way, yes. It’s just that I have told him that he is the benchmark or the person that every outsider, especially who comes from Delhi looks up to.”
Further, the Haseen Dilruba actress added, “When you work with people like him or superstars like him you realize what the stakes of the word stardom or star (are). Paanch Saal se koi picture nai aayi hai, but one move of his just creates a storm everywhere. His victories are personal, his loss is personal - that is stardom for me. That is stardom. Not what we feel star is.”
Taapsee who has delivered a number of hit projects over the years has many more projects in her kitty. Dunki starring Taapsee and Shah Rukh Khan is set to release in 2023. She will also feature in Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa.
