Tara Sutaria is currently prepping for the release of her upcoming film Ek Villain Returns. She has been on a promotional spree for the past few days with her co-stars Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani. In a recent interview, Tara spoke candidly about the importance of achieving equality for men and women in the film industry in terms of opportunity.

She stated, “It can be small things. It doesn’t need to be some huge conversation about the big things that we are doing wrong. It can be about the small things and the small differences we can make.”

The Marjaavan (2019) actress also brought up how the paparazzi frequently refer to male stars as "sir" while just using their first names to greet female actors. She also clarified that she is not requesting that people call her "mam," but rather that all of this stems from the idea that "man is greater" in general.

“I’ve noticed this, in a lot of paparazzi videos, you will notice a male celebrity and a female celebrity, and the male celebrity will always be called so and so sir but the woman who is of the same age will never be called so and so ma’am because she is just not given that (respect) and not that we want that respect,” added the 26-year-old.

Meanwhile, Ek Villain Returns is slated to release on July 29.
