The Dirty Picture” starring Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi, Tushar Kapoor is the one of the most successful and boldest films of Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji motion pictures is all set have a sequel which is going to be on floors from Mid-2023 and It’s been confirmed that Vidya Balan won’t be the part of sequel and currently Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Sanon are being considered for the role.

Kanika Dhillon who is famous for writing female lead oriented films like Rashmi Rocket, Haseen Dillruba, Judgemental Hai Kya , Manmarziyaan etc has been brought on board to write the sequel of “The Dirty Picture” with one of the male writers. Ekta Kapoor has been planning its sequel for a long time now and has looked upon various ideas and finally managed to begin its scripting.

While the prequel was about the story of actress silk Smitha , the sequel of this film will be completely different from the first one and no actors from the prequel would be seen including the lead actress Vidya Balan even the writer of “The dirty picture” Rajat Arora won’t be a part of the film as Ekta is planning this sequel to be something new and very different from the first part

Taapsee Pannu , Kriti Sanon and Kangana Ranaut were being considered for the part but Kangana softly refused to play the role because of its boldness but Taapsee and Kriti are still keen to play the role. But the writing would be finished by the end of the year and soon after that cast will be decided.

However both Kriti and Taapsee would be manifesting the opportunity to play the bold character and match the outstanding performance of Vidya Balan in prequel
