Vicky Kaushal to star opposite Katrina Kaif in Jee Le Zaraa, also featuring Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt
Jee Le Zaraa is an upcoming film that shows the world through women’s eyes. It is going to be on the lines of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) where the three male protagonists will be replaced by three female protagonists.
The much-anticipated film will star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. However, the makers of the films were having a hard time roping in male actors. The situation was so bad that filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar had decided on casting himself in the film as well.
And now, the filmmakers are using a rather unique method to cast male leads. According to sources, the filmmakers have approached Vicky Kaushal who recently married Katrina Kaif for the role opposite her.
A source in the know informed a publication, “The decision of approaching Vicky Kaushal to feature in the film is pure gold. Now add to that the plan is to cast him opposite Katrina Kaif, which will make Jee Le Zaraa the first film the couple features in together. This in itself is a marketing dream and makes promoting a film that much easier.”
Tackling the question of how the casting of Vicky will help the film, the source said, “With Farhan Akhtar casting himself and now Vicky also being roped in, that leaves just one male lead role vacant. And casting one person is far easier than three and that too in a film that is based on three female leads.”
