The song "Suraj Hua Maddham" from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham may be one of the best soundtrack in a Karan Johar movie, but the unforgettable track had a rather strange backstory that the filmmaker would rather forget. Karan Johar had an upset tummy and had to suffer a shitload on the set.

Karan Johar discussed the making of the highly anticipated song during his most recent appearance on a show. Karan, who appeared as a special guest alongside social media frenzy Prajakta Koli, admitted that the scene in the video where lead couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are romancing in a location full of limestones was difficult for him to watch.

Karan added “The sequence in ‘Suraj Hua Maddham’ where Kajol is wearing a green saree, the location had 500 kilometers of just limestone statues, probably the most beautiful location I’ve ever seen. It was in Farafra, Egypt. But, I was having a bad time because I had loosies. There was no vans in those days.”

He went on to say that he had to hide behind a limestone stone to do his business, but he was discovered by a foreign crew scouting for their upcoming shoot. He said “I literally went behind the biggest limestone statue. It was so big, I thought I’ll be covered for life. But then I turned and saw an army coming my way with me facing backwards.”
