On the verge of completing two weeks of its release, SS Rajamouli's RRR (2022) has kept the cash registers ringing ever since it hit theaters. The magnum opus broke all the box office records in the first week itself and is steadily inching towards the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide.

Trade analyst Manobala Vijabalan took to his social media handle to tweet that the movie has collected Rs 939.41 crore in just 12 days of its release. The film has minted Rs 10 crore on its 13th day and thus the total collection is now nearing Rs 950 crore. As per analysts, RRR will achieve the Rs 1000 crore benchmark by the end of this week.

To celebrate the film’s amazing feat, the team of RRR threw a huge bash in Mumbai. The mega event was attended by SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Aamir Khan and veteran bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar. However, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, who also played important roles in the film, were not present at the success bash of RRR.

During the media interaction, questions were asked about a sequel, 'RRR 2', wondering if the makers are contemplating a sequel. Jr NTR, who certainly wants the sequel said “Rajamouli sir needs to make RRR 2 as there needs to be a conclusion to this story." Ram Charan also seconded his view by saying "If Rajamouli sir thinks of making RRR 2. I hope your wish comes true brother."

Made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, RRR is a fictitious story based on two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the colonial regime. Set in 1920, the plot explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into oblivion before they began the fight for their country.
