First Weekend Box-office Collection of 'Mary Kom'
Beating 'Queen' and 'Mardaani' record, 'Mary Kom' earned the whooping collection of INR 24 Cr right over its first weekend at the box-office.

Women-centric films are on wheels and are moving ahead speedily. And here comes Priyanka Chopra starrer ' Mary Kom ' which has defeated the prior records of films ' Queen ' and ' Mardaani ' with its first weekend box-office collection.
Number of things worked in the favour of film ' Mary Kom ', first of all having A-lister star Priyanka to project the inspiring tale of World boxing champion Mary Kom, then the film getting the extensive release in over 1800 screens throughout India and also the government gave its unconditional support by making the film tax-free in the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Jharkhand. With all these things the film was destined to attain the "Super-hit" status, as on Friday it opened an account with INR 8.20 Cr. While on Saturday it registered INR 9.50 Cr and on Sunday it collected INR 10.30 Cr. Therefore, the total box-office collection of ' Mary Kom ' over its first weekend is INR 24 Cr nett.
Priyanka thanked everyone for such an overwhelming response over the social networking site Twitter with the following tweet- "Thank you for the incredible response to #MaryKom. I guess this film was such a heart wrenching experience that the love is just overwhelming (sic)"
