Kajol-starrer Salaam Venky's opening-day box office performance was unsuccessful. The movie, which debuted on December 9, is having trouble drawing audiences into theatres. It thus hardly turns a profit at the ticket booths. Salaam Venky has been playing in theatres for almost a week, but he hasn't even made Rs 5 crore. In this Revathy-directed movie, Vishal Jethwa plays the protagonist role The movie addressed euthanasia and was based on real-life incidents.

Kajol plays the mother of a son with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, aged 24, in the movie Salaam Venky. Since it hasn't made much money since it was released, the movie hasn't found an audience. As of right now, the overall revenue barely exceeds Rs 2.85 crore, considering that the movie's Day 5 single-day revenue on December 13 was just Rs 25 lakh. Other significant releases are giving Salaam Venky fierce competition.

Suraj Singh and Shraddha Agrawal provide financial support for Salaam Venky. Mithoon is the source of the music, in this case. Rahul Bose, Prakash Raj, and Rajeev Khandelwal also appear in the movie. The movie has a special cameo from Aamir Khan. The novel The Last Hurrah by Shrikant Murthy, on which Salaam Venky is based, also deals with euthanasia, which is, to put it simply, the deliberate taking away of a person's life to end their agony. Vishal Jethwa and Kajol play key roles.
