Vivek Agnihotri’s Docudrama shows the tragic exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit in 1990, The Kashmir Files shows the battle of the one side events that occurred in Kashmir. After a blockbuster opening weekend, the film collected 15 crores on Monday, 18 crores on Tuesday and 19.05 crore on Wednesday. Therefore, the total collection of the film Kashmir files now stands at Rs. 79.25 crores.

Anupam Kher’s starrer film had a tsunami opening at the box office all over India. Trade guru Taran Adarsh tweets saying, “#TheKashmirFiles is a TSUNAMI at the #BO… FANTASTIC TRENDING, as footfalls, occupancy, numbers continue to soar… Day 5 is higher than all previous days… BLOCKBUSTER… Fri 3.55 cr, Sat 8.50 cr, Sun 15.10 cr, Mon 15.05 cr, Tue 18 cr and 19.05 crore on Wednesday Total: ₹ 79.25 cr. #India biz.”

The Kashmir Files also stars actors like Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi in vital roles. The film has a Pakisthan-Afghanisthan angle. Agnihotri's film terrors its own religion and it looks like every Kashmir Muslim is converting the Kashmiri Pandits into Islamic religion. The film talks about justice and shows the struggle and terror the Kashmiri Pandits have gone through in the 1990, but it fails to show the complete truth as some of it is also made as per the film's perspective so that it is interesting for the viewers.

Therefore, the film received mixed reviews from the audience. One of the critics said, “ The film may not be interested in nuance but what stays with us are the flashes of genuine pain we see in the person of Pushkar Nath, played by Anupam Kher in a credible, moving turn.” Even after that, the film has got immense respect in the hearts of the audiences.
