The problems for the makers and presenters of one of the most popular fantasy show in the history of Television, The Game of Thrones, isn’t seems to be ending anytime sooner! Both makers and fans been ridiculed with the news and updates of ongoing ‘Leaking-Spree’ of latest episodes of season 7 by the hackers around the globe. And now, as everyone have been afraid to hear, hackers have caught up the speculations and they are threatening the makers of Game Of Thrones to pay a lumpsum amount or either they will leak the climax or crucial spoilers or the entire season finale episode!

As per the report by Mashable, for the data of for the 2.5 terabytes, the hackers have asked for approx $6.5million dollars as settlement to not leak the videos they have. To which HBO, who are producers for this magnum opus, responded clearly by stating “That’s a game, we’re not going to participate in” and have also cleared that it is just attention gaining stunt pulled by hackers. But to the reality it can cause serious damage to the production house as the show is already garnered reputation for being the most expensive show produced on television, where each episode could cost 2-12million dollars and with such leaks can cause a big hole in their pockets.

Although this is not the first time for the episodes got leaked for this season, as the 6th episode of this season is leaked as a Spanish channel aired 6th episode instead of telecasting 5th episode as it was scheduled. And the 5th episode was hacked from the database of India’s Hotstar, who is streaming partners for the show!

The show has created humongous fan base, who discusses fan theories and speculation on line, have a comic con separately for the show and even sensitive towards spoilers. And such news would bound to cause distress as every viewer who pay HBO; subscriptions (In India, it is Hotstar who officially streams Game of Thrones to Indian viewers) and still thing it is worth shedding that amount as it is worth to every penny. Piracy is really bitter!
