Britney Spears announces social media break
Internationally popular pop star Britney Spears has announced that she has decided to take a break from social media.
Spears took to photo-video sharing platform Instagram to announce the hiatus in a post. “I am going on a social media hiatus for a little while! I send my love and God bless you all,” the 40-year-old singer wrote.
The post was accompanied with a video of a baby lounging in a chair wearing sunglasses, a robe and rollers in their hair.
Spears’ social media break comes almost two weeks after she and fiancé, Sam Asghari announced that they were expecting their first child together.
In a post shared on her Instagram account on April 11, Spears revealed that she had lost weight to go on her recent Maui vacation, only to gain it back. "So, I got a pregnancy test ... and uhhhhh well ... I am having a baby," she wrote at the time.
Britney Spears has 40.9 million Instagram followers.
