Disney/Marvel's 'Deadpool 3' has been delayed until May 3, 2024, leaving the season without a start film for the time being. The Shawn Levy-directed film, which is currently in development, will replace 'Captain America: Brave New World' on July 26 of next year.

'Captain America', on the other hand, is relocating to February 14, 2025. We knew 'Captain America' was in better form than 'Deadpool 3', which was only half finished, and that Brave New World would be released this summer. Nope, not going to happen. Cap supporters, have a happy Valentine's Day.

Disney's Film Schedule Reshuffled:

Disney shifted Marvel Studios' 'Blade' from February 14, 2025 to November 7, 2025 to make room.

'Thunderbolts', which didn't even begin production owing to the two strikes, have been pushed back from December 20, 2024, to July 25, 2025.

Due to the delays, 'Deadpool 3' is now the only picture from the Marvel Cinematic Universe planned to premiere next year, a significant departure following years of the series releasing three or more films per year. It will be fascinating to watch how the relative shortage affects viewer interest in the superhero genre.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike, along with the Writers Guild of America strike, has thrown production schedules across Hollywood into turmoil. Prior to the strikes, Marvel Studios' forthcoming projects were in various stages of production. 'Captain America: Brave New World' had apparently completed principal filming, causing some to anticipate that it will be pushed up to fill 'Deadpool 3's' slot, while 'Blade' and 'Thunderbolts' have yet to begin production, according to Variety.

More Disney movements include the 'Mufasa: The Lion King' sequel, which will run from July 5 to December 20, 2024.

Disney also removed two unnamed films from the calendar, scheduled for July 25, 2025, and November 7, 2025.

Today's developments might pave the way for future release calendar modifications as other studios jockey for positions once SAG-AFTRA members return to work. Sony, which owns the Spider-Man universe, pushed back the release date of Venom: Let There Be Carnage from July 14 to November 8 on Wednesday.
